Start with a spark test, and inspection of spark plugs.
You may have one cyl. with no spark- if so, you may need a coil. Let me know if you need one- we keep them in stock (and of course, if you're under warranty, they're covered). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
If you've got spark on all 6, and spark plugs are in good/new condition, get it in for Computer Diagnostic. Many sensor faults result in "Engine Guardian", which reduces your "Available Engine Power" (This is the PCM taking steps to "protect" the engine). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
+1 And just because you may have spark on all 6 when cranking, you may "lose" it while running.
spark test showed no fire on #5, diagnostic showed coil bad. Replaced, hole shot back, go fast now . Thankyou
Good deal it was only a coil http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I once ran my 250 XS not knowing that I had blown #6 in a very bad detonation event for a couple of miles at 84 mph back to the ramp. I knew something was wrong bad though as I was down 16 or so MPH but it's still Amazing how strong those XS's are huh http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif to run so well on only 5 holes http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif
Glad you found the bad coil! And yes, these motors do a very nice job of "masking a dead hole"! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
