Re: Quickleen and Stabil (warmstrong)

Re: Quickleen and Stabil (2500)
I don't know about this other product but Merc recommends using both quickclean and fuel stabilizer in each and every drop of gas you put in your boat.
It's true that to much of quickclean can be potentially a problem but using both Merc products at the same time in the recommended dosage is actually the way Merc says to do it especially now in light of ethanol fuels.
BTW: You got an 06 250, it's still under warranty why would you not use exactly what's recommended by Merc. A new powerhead is about $8000 installed in my area. I'd pay the small extra for the Merc Products and know if something goes wrong there will not be a question. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (esdbass)
There is no problem with using the recommended dosages of BOTH Quickleen and Fuel Stabilizer. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
That's actually "what's recommended".
On "Stabilizer" it is now recommended that you:
"Stabilize your fuel any time that the fuel will not be CONSUMED AND REPLACED WITHIN 15 DAYS".
I personally use Mercury Fuel System Treatment & Stabilizer (and Marine Stabil) as our line of "Stabilizer" Products.
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (EuropeanAM)
Will the pink sta-bil hurt a dfi or should you use the green?
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (crappieslab)
I was going to ask this same question.

Re: Quickleen and Stabil (Triton Bob)
I HIGHLY recommend using the Blue/Green MARINE STABIL if you're going to use that brand.
The older "Red/Orange" product is not recommended for use in a "Marine Environment" due to changes in fuel (due to fuel formula changes).
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (EuropeanAM)
Don-Question for you? I have been using Quickleen,Stabil(double dose since I never know when I will be able to fish), and Startron in recommended ratios for use in my Pro XB 250 EFI. Have not had a problem yet(?) and do not expect one I hope? I use the combo for ethanol, carbon, and gas degradation purposes. Should I add the Mercury fuel treatment to the mix or am I good to go? Thanks!
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (oldgeezer)
You're probably just fine. I don't know much about the Startron product (just have never used it).
Make sure you're using the "Marine" Stabil. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (oldgeezer)
Bob: I believe Redline pointed out to me that the Mercury fuel treatment, not the fuel stabilizer actually contains alcohol and given we want to keep more of this out of the tank and also given all that you are putting in the tank your probably better off with out adding it as well?
As always I defer to Redline or Don on this technical a question.
Re: Quickleen and Stabil (esdbass)
Eli, I think you are referring to the "fuel system cleaner".
The Fuel System Treatment & Stabilizer was reformulated in 2006, and according to the latest MSDS sheets, does not contain alcohol. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
