I thanked Don on the phone but I also want to publicly thank him. I purchased a used Smart Craft System Monitor and harness from him a couple of months ago and after I installed it I just could not get it to work.

I went through the instructions over and over but no luck. I sent him an email a few days ago describing my problems and he asked me to take a reading with an ohm meter to see if the harness was the culprit. Turns out the harness was ok so He said he would call me.

Today he called, we discussed the problem and I told him my boat was in my RV garage, he said lets try to figure this thing out. We went through a short diagnostic check with me pushing the buttons on my end and he was looking through 3 manuals on his end. He quickly found out what was wrong, the gauge came from a port side triple engine boat and it would not "Read" my engines computer, single engine rigs are all "starboard" to the computer....or something like that.

Anywho, he talked me through the complete re-programming of the System Monitor to match my engine and much to my pleasure it worked. He spent at least 45-60 mins. with 2 phone calls, was VERY patient and understanding and also answered a bunch of questions that I had....quite the Gentleman!!! We are very lucky to have this man on our forum, thanks again Don.....Dave in So. Utah

Don, by the way, afterwards I even pulled the boat out, hooked up the muffs and wtr.hose and fired her up for a few mins.. All modes worked just fine, except the speedo of course. And you're right, it doesn't take long for it to warm up.....

Yea Don but you know as well as I do that some outfits have absolutely NO concept of customer relations after the money is exchanged. It all boils down to ethics, honesty and just being a true man of your word. Unfortunately a lot of these values are missing in these times.....Dave
