Hot horn sensor is in the starboard head. Just follow the wires coming from it to where they terminate on a terminal block...should be above the switchboxes. Then, with the key switch on, ground a wire from that terminal point connection to the block. If your horn is working, it will sound off.
Re: 2000 225 pro max (h2oskiier30)
The wire color you're looking for (that signals the warning horn) is: TAN w/BLUE STRIPE. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: 2000 225 pro max (EuropeanAM)
ok , I found the termanal block with the tan / blue wire ...... I took a jumper wire with the key on and went from the termanal block to the engine block and no sound ..... What can i check next ?
Re: 2000 225 pro max (bulletbob20xd)
Locate the warning horn under under the dash.
Test as follows:
PURPLE wire should have 12V+ power with key "on".
Tan w/blue-stripe wire is the same "signal" wire you grounded at the engine. If a ground is provided to this wire (with key on), the horn should sound.
If you have power, and provide ground to Tan w/Blue stripe wire at the horn- and it still does NOT sound: Replace warning horn (it's faulty). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: 2000 225 pro max (EuropeanAM)
I think I found the horn taped up under the dash .... I didnt get time to check it yet .... I was wondering since everything was working till I disconnected the oil pump .... ( the beep when i turnned the key ) wouldnt it make sense this is related to the removal of the pump ( oil warning ) horn .... I mean isnt this the same horn ? I also checked for voltage at the terminal black and hav 12 volts on both connections ..... Im thinkin I should have jumpered the oil warning wires when i disconnent it ....
Re: 2000 225 pro max (bulletbob20xd)
Disconnecting the oil injection and the various "boxes" associated with it shouldn't have anything to do with the hot horn working or not.
Re: 2000 225 pro max (bulletbob20xd)
If the oil warning module had TWO Tan w/blue stripe wires- then yes, you likely will have to jumper those two wires (some did, some did not- sorry, I don't have a diagram in front of me today, as I'm out of town). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Re: 2000 225 pro max (EuropeanAM)
Thank you so much .....That is what my gut was tellin me .... I had a feeling I messed it up from the oil pump / pre mix switch .... Im glad i use a temp gauge to keep an eye on the engine temp ..... I will post back soon as i look at it this weekend ..... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
