How will you prepare your bird this Thanksgiving. I really like it fried, but for Thanksgiving it has to be roasted and stuffed. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

I'm smoking the wild turkey I shot in the Spring on my Traeger. I plucked it, so hopefully it will be good. I'm also making another smaller turkey on the Traeger in case the wild one is no good. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Fried! Who cares about tradition when I can have gobble gobble on the table within 40 minutes.
I've never had it fried, I would like to try it but it's tradional for me http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
I loved a whole turkey deep fried until I started smoking them on the Traeger. They turn out fantastic that way, esp. if you use apple pellets and keep the bird moist. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
However it is made when I show up I will eat it! I don't cook, so therefore I don't complain. Learned that one a looooong time ago. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif

in all seriousness. I did shoot one with my bow sitting by a cedar tree. we didn't have time to set the blind up. They were coming down the hill right towards us. Luckily there was a wash out that i was able to stand in and draw my bow. he came within 15 yards and turn broadside and started gobbling and I let one fly and dropped it right in its tracks. Then the thing gets up and flies straight up like its a damn space shuttle taking off or a pheasant that got slobbered knockered with a 12 gauge ( how is that for some descriptive writing ). and he fell right back to the ground and the game was over. that was the best hunt i have been on.
