i understand the boat have the data plate for a reason
now for the ?
some of the older motors weigh more than newer model and some even looks the same size

not going to get a 200 but it would happen right
not sure. Get you a 2.5 liter 200 and they weigh the same as your 175 and my 150. They are just gutted different.....
Is your boat rated for a 175 max? If so, you could get a 175 EFI, put in a set of reeds, shave the heads, cut the can, and drop a 200 ECU into it and you would have a 200+ sleeper and still meet the rating maximum for your rig. Note: you would probably have to run premium gas if you shaved the heads due to the high compression.

The down side to any modifications (over-powering)is that you will void any warranty you have on your hull. If that's not an issue to you, you may not be eligible for certain tournament trails with an over powered boat. Most trails at the state and regional level have a rule that prohibits over-powered boats. Course, you aren't wrong until you get caught, I guess http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif

That and I think Insuring suck a boat is almost Taboo in some instances......I know there are Insurance Companies that will do it but will be consider High Risk and rate could be http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
