2001 225 Evinrude Ram Ficht Problems!
I've got a 2001 Evinrude Ram Ficht 225 that I just had rebuilt after having burned up a piston. Since having the motor rebuilt we noticed the temperature on the same cylindar that blew up that last time is running alot hotter than the rest. Does anybody have any advice or knows anyone in north Alabama that fools with these motors? I've heard the horror stories about these motors being bad but I was told the 99 and 00 models. I guess 2001 models are bad as well!

If you never figured out what caused the motor to blow the first time and fixed that problem then you will have the same problem with the rebuild. With out a lap top and the diagnostic software makes trying to fix and set the motor up almost impossible.

Your problem may have been the injector for that cylinder, low or now flow of fuel. If so it may be too late.

That would make sense but we actually put a brand new injector on that cylinder.

Did you install the co-efficients that came with the injector?

We did! It really does seem like an injector problem though. Just don't know what else it could be.

Did you put new pistons and rings in all cylinders or just the bad one?

Yes we had all the cylinders bored and put all new pistons and rings in all the cylinders.
