What would be the best timeframe to schedule a trip to KY lake to catch the Redear on the beds? I want to take my 5 year old down. I think he would have a blast since they are a lot bigger than the regular 'gills where we normally fish. I'll have to schedule the trip in between my bass tournaments that time of the year.
I'm heading down on May 9th for a few days to try for some for the first time. I would guess that up to a couple weeks after that May full moon would be prime.
I based my timing from what KY lake Guide KicknBass said. I'm still trying to get a 1/2 day guided trip lined up.

I think most of the time it's the end of May first of June. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif I'm going to be on Barkley the last week in April for some green fish.

That's about right.
Usually I go after redear, but end up loading up on the catfish, as they are usually shallow then getting ready to spawn.
