Kentucky Lake Dam Area Motel Info. Needed
I'm coming there the last week of April to fish the USA Bassin Classic. We'll be going out of Kentucky Dam Marina. A lot of the motels around there are already booked and I'm hesitant to call some of the smaller ones, not knowing anything about them. If anyone could give me some suggestions on places to call, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just clean and safe. Thanks!

If it were me, I'd just stay at Moors and motor down the lake to KY Dam Marina in the mornings. It's about a 10 minute boat ride. You'd miss all of the crowd and the 1 hr+ boat ramp line. Moors has a nice lodge with hotel style rooms.

I stayed at the Moors one time couple years ago. If they have not updated their rooms or cabins at all I would tell you go somewhere else. Cabin we got was a piece of crap and left the next day to go elsewhere. My opinion so no bashing

Moors hands down. Been going there every year for 18 years and have had no problems.

You might try the Relax Inn. My wife and I used to stay there when we came to the lake until we bought a trailer on Barkley. Don't know the cost now but it was one of the cheepest and had nice comfortable rooms. Also might check Poplar creek inn. Right next to the Cabin bait shop. Or was. The cabin is moving a couple miles down the road but if you need tackle while you are there I would bet they have what you need.

For a small motel...it may be booked up, but try The Bel Air....if that does not work, try Gingerwood Cabins. The Moor's is a good place but if the lake is rolling in the morning, I don't think I would want to be running the lake in rollers to get to the dam in time for blast off.

The Bel Air Motel right close to the Dam.

I just made reservations at the Poplar Creek Inn. It sounds great. Thanks for all the help. Any help I can give you guys in VA, let me know.

Give me a shout on here before you come. My trailer is about 2 miles from there. If I'm not on call I'll be there with a fridge full of cold ones.

Rockangler, I'll do that. I'm coming there on April 27. I appreciate the help. Kitty was really nice and I got the room for $40 a night. She said they cater to tournament anglers. I had tried the Bel Air previously but they were already booked. Thanks again for all the help!

In the past they have given a 10% coupon for use at the Cabin Bait Shop. Now that the cabin is moving down the road I don't know if they will continue this but worth the asking. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
