Bass Club Question/Concerns

I live in a town where the local club has dissolved. I have never been in a bass club and would like to pick up a few pointers over the upcoming years. God willing. There are several Gentleman I work with that are fisherman and may like to join in a club too. I know its hard work to run something like this as I'm a small business owner too. One of the guys was in that club and may still have the old members, to contact. One problem we have is the water here are Ohio River and Green River. Not that Rivers are a problem. KY/Barkley 2hrs, Rough River/Nolin River 1hr, Barren River 2.5rs, Lake Malone 1hr. Some of thoughts were 1 tournament a month or every other month. Mayb March-Nov.Kind of hit the two rivers first. test the waters so to speak. I got all this fine stuff and not much knowledge,for a jack leg. Plus all of us have family's too. If I were to join one of the clubs surrounding, I think there meeting are late and would put us home even later. Not a whiner by no means. An movin ain't no option. Yes, I'm from KY lol. Here in Louisville, a few of us here on the board get together about every two weeks or so and fish on the Ohio here in town - usually do it on Wednesday night, around 6-10 or so, $20, winner take all.

Bragging rights are the real prize, that way we can talk smack on the boards up until the next one. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif We've talked about a weekend event a time or two, but most are gone on the weekend to fish good waters like KY, Barkley, Dale Hollow, etc.

It's a lot of fun and might be something you might look into starting up in your home area.
