Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (chadw)
drive to Lake Cumberland or Rough River Lake some of the best inland Stripe fishin in the country!
Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (chadw)
I'd say that Schaffer and Freeman would be in the "few" category, but then it's been many years since I was there. There is a fairly decent population of stripers in Brookville Lake, but there too, they are hard to come by.
Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (billius)
The wife caught this one on Patoka up by the dam in early May. There was a bigger one following this one back to the boat. I don't know how many are in there but they got some size to them.

Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (basshole45)
I catch a lot of wipers at Monroe, have heard of the stripers at Patoka, but have no first hand knowledge of them.
Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (Stratos201basser)

Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (basshole45)
There are quite a few big stripers caught out of Racoon believe it or not. There is a guy in a red lund I've talked to at the ramp a few times that I see out there very regulary.
WE also had a cabin on the Tippecanoe River and below the Oak Dale Dam (makes L. Freeman) the wipers run up to the tailwaters there and stack up. Bad thing is so do the anglers....
Re: Striper/Wiper fishing (chadw)
Raccoon, the open bowl in front of the dam has a hump 40ft. up to 20ft. troll white steamers over it . Always 18 to 20 pounders. Gas stations and bait shops around the lake have walls covered with pics.
