Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (rangerboatguy)
I throw a lot of spinnerbaits but haven't fooled around much with smaller name-brand spinnerbaits. I love the Strike King Pro Model. My favorite "go-to" spinnerbait would be a chart/white with a few red and shad color strands thrown in on my own. Tandem blades with silver willow and gold colorado. If the water is on the murkier side, I like the same color but with tandem blades with a gold Indiana blade instead of the silver willow. 1/2 oz. All these different combos change with varying conditions obviously, but I'll usually have one of these tied on at all times.

Stanley Wedge 3/4oz white with double willow leaf nickel on the large and gold on the small blade
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (Joe Skeeter)
Hook Some Bass and Slongs Blue Glimmer Spinner Baits.

Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (TR21Bassin)
I learned to throw a chatterbait where I used to throw a spinnerbait. I have never really fished on deep, so that is not what I am talking about. Around shallow cover and over the tops of grass and brush. I believe Joe talked me into it and it worked http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

I completely agree with this, for lakes anyways. Definitely a fan of the Stanley Wedge too.
For rivers, I think you've pretty well nailed it with the War Eagle you've described.
Hot Lime/Chart. or Mouse, depending on water muddiness.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (artcarney_agr)
I'm partial to the old 3/8 SK Premier Pro double Colorado blade (white/chart), and a 3/8 Terminator with their double Colorado blades (white). Seems like here anything white is good though. For night time, 5/8 Aggravator with a #6 Colorado blade is my go to bait.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (Javelin389)
I usually throw a 3/8 or 1/2 oz Booyah chart/white with sliver Colorado leading blade, and gold willow. Earlier in the year I throw the same weight/color with double willows in silver/gold and a Booyah 3/8 Super Quad Shad when the shad are spawning.
I have different preferences for different times but I'd say the "go-to" would be the first one in a 1/2oz
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (rangerboatguy)
Two colors white & chart. Alone or mixed but these two colors in 3/8 or 1/2 oz
Blades depends on the water http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (repdept)
I like a Booyah, Hildenbrandt and Stanley Wedge... Biggest 5 fish I ever had in one day was on a Hildenbrandt on Barkley, but wasn't in a tournament, weighed 27lbs 2ounces.... Use a No 4 or No 5 in shallower water, i.e. less that four feet and move up to bigger blades and weights for slow rolling points...
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (BassnBuck)
i really like locally made spinnerbaits or even some sponsor spinnerbaits here on the boards. i own probably 60 spinnerbaits, 50 of them are 3/4oz or bigger. all used for slow rolling over deep water.. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

I'm curious what your "go to" spinnerbait is and what color/blade combination you prefer. I have found the 3/16 oz War Eagle (shad colored skirt, silver turtle blades) to be to my liking. Also Timmie Poe's and Strictly Bass spinnerbaits are popular in this area (SouthWest Ohio) but I get caught up around blade combination/skirt color/weight, etc. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif If you had to pick one, what would it be??

The Strong Arm spinner bait has won me more money than any spinner bait combined and it is made by a guy from Louisville Ky. I have won one fully rigged Bass Cat with a 225 Optimax and also a 10 grand tournament out of Paris Landing a few years back with his baits. His name is Guthrie Arnstrong and if you want the best call him.

I wold be partial too with that kinda reward... I got a dozen or so still in the package, what are they worth to you Rodney? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (JC25)
Poe's are not popular in this arrea but I got me a source...there is not a better spinnerbait on the market for coming through wood cover!!!!!!!! You can throw this thing in the top of a tree in your yard and bring it right out. Tim Poe's in 3/8 oz. is about all I throw...anywhere! I use the SUN PERCH color skirt from Strike King on mine.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (rangerboatguy)
I really like Terminator Spinner baits. I like the stainless better than the titanium. I like a 3/8 oz. willow blade in white and chartreuse. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (Passion 4 Bassin)
if your fsihing the river and Ohio Lakes you cant beat a Timmy pow spinner bait in the 1/8 and 1/4 oz size, white or white and chatreuse with either colorado or turtle back blades in muddy to off colored water or a colorado/willow in clearer water. Quit worrying about all the combinations and just fish it around cover, make sure you make c ontact with the cover.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (jettdog68)
On the Ohio River and other water near the house I've done the best with Poe's spinnerbaits.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (CincyBas)
Wow Jamie, where the heck have you been? Good to see you on here.
Re: Spinnerbait of choice? (Mike Daleo)
Poe's http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif 1/8oz white with Colorado/Indiana gold blade combo... Best I've founf for the river... Dan
