Headed to KY Lake...looking for some assistance

Hello, I am from Wisconsin and heading to KY Lake over my spring break next month. I will be getting there March 15th and staying for 5 days. I've fished in the area before on the Ohio River for a BFL Regional a few years ago.

If there is anyone that could give me some general ideas of how fish are caught this time of year, I would appreciate it. I'm not looking for spots from anyone...I like to find my own. From the research that I have done thus far, it seems that most fished are picked up on jerkbaits, jigs, traps on secondary points in 4-8 ft of water.

I will be there from March 17-22 staying at shawnee bay resort. We have room for two more in our cabin. Stop by or meet us in johnathan creek and I will be happy to show you some areas.
