Anyone know if the Madisonville Bass club is having the Fire Cracker this year?

Not sure, but they've had it every year since I can remember.
Troy, i have not seen any flyers at all on it this year and most of the time they bring us a bunch to hand out, i havent heard any thing from those guys. I believe Donnie Keaton is the one who handles it.
Donnie Cato i mean.

Lets hear the rest of the storey there good buddy. Getting thrown out is no big laugh there good buddy especially if you cant swim like me. I have been running these lakes for 40 years and even had a drag boat for three years and i have never been thrown out but close several times. That must have been one scarey minute for you guys.
I feel your pain Steve (Longrodder).....didnt get thrown out but hit a green channel marker on KY during last years Firecracker......at 2 AM http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
3 months and 18 grand later she was back on the water

Dang Rodney, I forgot about you not being able to swim. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Was heading to Ky and was in no hurry!! Just cruising along and watching for the 10,000,000,000,000 boat waves that was all over the lake. Got to a clean spot of water at about the water intake and loosened the boat up a little with trim and cruising at 70...no big deal...see waves, trim down, go over waves, trim up...etc. Well, I DID NOT SEE the waves and they came from a boat that crossed in front of me but well before I got there. Hit the first one, boat shot straight up in the air, back drivers side corner hit the top of the second one and this turned the boat a little to the right and pivot slammed the passenger side of the boat into the side of the third wave. This in turn STOPPED the boat and Kattfish and Myself exited stage left!!!!! I turned around to check if Matt was ok and his seat was in the lake. He sort of got dummped over the side and did battle with what we think was the side of the boat...thought he had a broken thumb and a VERY sore wrist. I got thrown out and skipped three times and ended up about 20 yards from Matt. Fractured my L1 vertebrae on the front side (thankfully)!!! Steve

In front of Higgins?
It still hurts all over my body when I think of that evening. Old fat guys do not bounce well on the water,LIFE JACKETS everyone they work without them our outcome would have been very different. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
Dept of Fish and Wildlife website has it listed for July 7th. Steve

The firecracker along with the fireworks at eddy creek and Barkley should be hopping tomorrow afternoon. Be carefull out there tomorrow.
You aint kiddin....at 11pm it looked like a major highway out in front of Kuttawa Harbor on the main lake.
Finished 8th in the Firecracker and didnt hit anything this year http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

My wife and kids talked me into taking the boat out to see the fireworks http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Never been on the water with that many boats. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif It wasn't too bad until one jackass in a caravelle got close enough to me I had to swerve but still got soaked by his wake on the way out. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif
wouldn't have been so bad if you were in a 1989 stratos fish http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/stirthepot.gif

It's probably a good thing I only had 85 horses to play with. I might have did something I would have regretted with my kids and mom in the boat. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif
