Tournament at Trooper Island Feb. 3rd
Below are the rules for the February 3rd tourney at Trooper Island. I would appreciate as much BBC support for this event as we can have! This will be a blast and it is for our cause.

FISHING TOURNAMENT RULES (February 3, 2007)
1. Interpretation of these rules shall be left exclusively to the tournament committee. Eastern Standard Time shall be observed for this tournament.
2. All participants must be registered on or before Friday January 19, 2007. Tournament time is 0700-1700 hrs Saturday. The start position for the tournament will be by blind chip draw.
4. The tournament will be a big fish tournament. Only Largemouth, Kentucky Spotted Bass or Smallmouth Bass will be weighed. Tournament officials will make measurements with a golden rule. The following method will be used for measuring all fish according to Fish and Wildlife, THE MOUTH WILL BE CLOSED AND THE TAIL PINCHED. No short fish will weighed. All Largemouth must be 15 inches. There is a slot limit on Smallmouth (16-21 inches, none may be kept in that slot and only 1 over or 1 under may be kept/fisherman). For this tournament the minimum size Smallmouth will be 12Â. Spotted Bass (Kentucky Bass) must be 12 inches. The tournament judge will measure, weigh, and determine the species of all fish. Spotted bass must display Âdistinct characteristics of a ÂSpot including a distinct patch on the tongue.
5. Live bait or artificial lures may be used. All bass must be caught live in a conventional manner.
6. Competitors who are not at the official check-in point at the appointed time shall be penalized at a rate of one pound per minute to be deducted from the total weight of the contestantÂs catch for the day. If the contestant(s) are more than five minutes late to the weigh in they will be eliminated. All fishing must cease at check-in. (There shall be no excuses for being late to the check-in regardless of reason.) There will be a one pound penalty for each dead fish weighed in.
7. All fish weighed, become the property of the tournament officials to be returned to the tournament waters, except a trophy fish of five pounds or more can be returned to the contestants.
8. In the event of a breakdown, a contestant may bring his and his partnerÂs fish to the weigh in, in another contestantÂs boat.
9. All contestants shall obey Kentucky and Tennessee laws and regulations.
10. Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times by the tournament competitors. Contestants are required to wear approved life vests at all times well combustion engine is running.
11. Any protest shall be lodged with tournament officials within thirty (30) minutes of check-in. There will be a meeting Saturday Morning prior to blast off (0600) to review and disseminate any last minute rule/regulation changes. One team member is all that is required.
12. Lodging for the tournament will be free on a first come first serve basis. The only reserved lodging will be for the tournament officials in the counselor's cabins (duplex). Trooper Island has accommodations for approximately 80 people and dock space for approximately 18 boats (others will have to be beached on the bank). Alternative lodging at the Mary Ray Oaken lodge can be obtained through reservations at 1-800-325-2282. The tournament officials are attempting to work with the lodge to coordinate a Friday night buffet and a state employee rate ($45) for all participates, at their own expense.
13. Half of the entry fee money will be donated to Trooper Island Boys and Girls Camp and the other half will be paid to the winners.
