Considering Patoka for our club's classic.......where to stay?

We are fishing the last weekend of Sept. Is the lake any good this time of year? Are any of the resorts still open. Where is a good launch? We are about 5 hours away (NW Indiana) Just wondering if it will be worth the trip. All of your input would be appreciated

You might have to check with the DNR on ramp availablity I would think unless your under a certain number of boats. I like Patoka in the fall been there the last 3 years. We stay at the Pines at Patoka Lake Village and there is a ramp just down the road. Theres a couple other cabins nearby plus some motels in French Lick.

I always stay at the Lane Motel in French Lick. They have reasonable rates, nice clean rooms and they have electric outlets all over the parking lot for charging batteries, etc.

We are only going to have 12 boats, so the DNR and the ramp won't be an issue.

You could just stay in French Lick and then launch at Painter's Creek ramp.
