Mercury media deluge- gas argument

Hey Rusty,

Living here in Mercury land(AR) all I hear about is fuel consumption 200 HO etec versus 200 opti is not equivalent and now BCB has hinted that output in a recent B&WB magazine using their boats was "interesting" but they didnt want to blow the article. Any insights? I have got to say I get tired of being in the minority down here. My take is that consumption is statistically a wash but you cant tell me a 200 opti will run with a 200ho with a "equivalent" setup- any opinions?

I don't have any information on the 200 opti fuel consumption or speeds, but at 3 bucks a gallon....My Money is on the E-Tec. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
