Anyone using tires that are not trailer tires???
My last boat had BF Goodrich radials on it and I am considering doing the same for my current boat, tandem axle Triton. Just wondering what some of you may be doing. I don't tow real long distances (60-70 miles one way at most) and keep probably what is considered a light load to most.
Your thoughts??

For a tandem you are usually fine with non-trailer tires. The problem is they have less weight capacity than a trailer tire which can be bad on a single axle.

Thanks for the input. CatFan. That is pretty much the way I was looking at, just wanted another opinion or 2.

Trailer tires have stronger sidewalls than passenger tires. This is to compensate for not having shocks on the trailer. I use Carisle, American made.

My trailer came with Firestone's and I replaced them after 8 years with Cooper Cobras, and put anywhere from 5-10,000 miles a year on my trailer and have not had any tire problems.

My Cat came from the factory with Cooper Cobras...they are excellent tires. At this time, BassCat doesn't use Cooper Cobras, due to them being not available for some reason.

I am going this spring with BFG Radial all Terain LT tires. If you can match your size up, the ones I am getting have the same load capacity as the Marathons I am replacing. Plus they have a max air pressure of 60 PSI.
Bonus - Specs say made in USA or Mex
