Converting 4 plug to 5 plug 1997 GMC
I hope this is the correct forum for this post.
I have a 1997 GMC 3/4 ton that currently has a 4 plug for trailer connection. On my 2006 Z20 Ranger I need 5 plug connection due to the brake actuator?
I believe it is standard on 2000 and newer vehicles. Those that are familiar know if i back up, the brakes will activate without the 5th prong connection. What do I need to do to convert over ?

You need a truck side Flat 5 connector. The first 4 wire (yellow, green, brown, and white) go exactly where the current Flat 4 is connected. The 5th (blue) wire hooks to your backup lights. This will de-activate your surge brakes when you put the truck in reverse. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
