EZ Loader Grease Seal Issue
Decided I would clean and lube my wheel bearings. Purchased new grease seals from NAPA. Got the job done, and after a short trip to check everything out one of the BB's was flat indicating no grease. I checked the inside of the axle and found where the grease went. Bought a new grease seal and changed that one again and it made it to around 200 miles before it allowed the grease to leak out.
I've since purchased new seals from EZ Loader and intend to replace the bad one again this week. Any suggestions as to why only this one seal won't hold grease? I checked the axle and don't see anything out of the ordinary. Never an issue until I changed it. The other three seem fine. Appreciate some advice.
Re: EZ Loader Grease Seal Issue (Skeeter Madness)
I found out from the guys at Easterns that the seal for the ez loaders are about .005 larger in diameter than the standard. If you got the seals from them you should be fine.
Re: EZ Loader Grease Seal Issue (Ntimad8rs)
The standard seal size is 1.72", EZ Loader uses a 1.687" seal. We have them in stock if you need some.
Re: EZ Loader Grease Seal Issue (EasternMarine)
Think I have it resolved now. Installed the new seal from EZ Loader and it went right in. As well, I noticed the last replacement seal was cut when I removed it. I found the problem...there was a build-up of paint on the seal running area and it was really stiff. I scraped it clean and reinstalled. Won't know for sure if it's finally fixed until I pull it a couple hundred miles. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep you in mind in the future Eastern Marine. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: EZ Loader Grease Seal Issue (Ntimad8rs)
I'm sorry..I had it bass ackwards. Leave it to the pros to get it right for you. I just knew there was a diffference with the EZ loaders' seals. Be talking with the guys from Eastern soon. Have to get a new bow tie and some other stuff.
