Cooper Cobras On A Ranger Trailer?
I'm trying to decide on 4 tires for a tandem axle with a 520 sitting on it. I don't know whether to stay with Marathons, or go with the Cooper tire, which is an automotive tire. The size of the Marathon is 215 75 14, the Cooper is 215 70 14. Any problem in the size difference? I know BCB runs the Cooper, so in theory, so should my Ranger Trail. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help.

If you go with the Cooper's, the 225 70 14 will be the same tire height as the 215 75 14. The 215 70 14 is a shorter tire than the 215 75 14. This is for ground clearance. The '70' series tires are a little wider than the '75' series also. The wider tires may stick out of the finders some..
The Bass Cat guys swear by the Coopers..With the price of the GY Marathons, when I get ready to put new tires on my trailer I'm seriously looking at the Coopers...
Re: Cooper Cobras On A Ranger Trailer? (4dbass)
The first number of a tire is how wide in mm the tire is..The second set of numbers is the % of width = the height of the sidewall and third set is the rim size. So a 225 is 8.8" wide, 70% of 8.8" is 6.16" so that will give the tire height of 26.32".( take 6.16" x 2 + 14" rim size =) tke a 215/75/14 215 is 8.46" wide and 75% of that is 6.35" is a 26.75" tire..Hope this helps. 25.4 mm makes a inch
