Re: Trailer issue (bab33face)
Here is a picture of the plugged in harness.
The trailer harness is on the left, 5pole adapter harness on the right.http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...TR21/004-2.jpg
Re: Trailer issue (bab33face)
somethings wrong on the truck side of the wiring..
Re: Trailer issue (Lyn O. Dyer)
Anyone else with any ideas?
Re: Trailer issue (bab33face)
Something is wrong. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
OK, brown should only be hot when the running lights are on
Green wire should only be flashing when turn signal is on- forget which side
Yellow should only be flashing when turn signal is on - other direction.
Emergency flashers on- both yellow and green should be hot( flashing )
Re: Trailer issue (Skeet'r89)
Yellow wire is for the left tail light
Green is for the right side tail light
Brown is for thr clearence lights
White is the ground
Blue is for the reverse solenoid
this is not rocket science guys..
Re: Trailer issue (Lyn O. Dyer)
a 4 wire connector will not work for or with a 5 wire system..
Re: Trailer issue (bab33face)
VMS error and backup camera tells me you have a problem with ther way the truck plug is wired. You obviously dont have a 70 Chevy PU seek professionsl help before you have a real problem.
Re: Trailer issue (bab33face)
did you check your trailer ground wire(white ). MY OTHER SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO GO TO A TRAILER STORE AND HAVE A 7 WAY PLUG INSTALLED ON THE TRUCK THEN GET A 7 TO 5 ADAPTER
Re: Trailer issue (985ron)
The problem has now been resolved.
I added a new ground connector on the trailer and retapped the reverse lights on a different section of the wiring harness. One of the two items fixed the issue.
The trailer wiring harness has seen better days though. Anyone know how much it would cost to redo the trailer wiring?
