Re: Toyota Tacoma (EODHEMI)
I have a 2006 D-cab 4x4, 4.0v6. I traded my 04 chevy 3 months ago. Tacoma has been getting between 19-20 mpg around town and 21-22 on interstate. I tow an 18ft Lowe probably weighs in around 2500lbs loaded. Tacoma handles it just fine. I've seen one towing a Ranger 185. I don't have to go very far and roads pretty flat. If you are in hills you'll miss the Hemi, but the Tacoma is a great all driver. I hope any of this helps.
Re: Toyota Tacoma (EODHEMI)
I also have a 4x4 Double Cab Tacoma Long Bed with the larger V6. I have a 17'-6" Stratos on a single axle ... tows like a champ with no problems. I've also towed my old man's '92 Ranger (much heavier than my boat) ... does great. You won't be accelerating up hills, but it holds it's own. I also saw a guy at my local lake towing a dual axel Triton TR-21 with a Tacoma ... he said it tows fine. Great truck overall.
