UFP A-60 Surge Insert Removal
Is there a tip to remove the 2 pins that hold the slide insert in the housing?
I have tried to knock them out from the right side to the left side but they only move approx. 1/8" and then firmly stop. Do they have to be rotated to line up any markings on the pins? I have removed the split rings and the clips and tried to hammer them out with a sledge hammer but no luck.

If its an old unit, the pins may be fused to the master cylinder in the rear and the steel rollers in the front, call me Monday ...800-854-1905 ext.107

I have the same issue... What was the solution to this? A bigger hammer??

I had to beat mine pretty good to get them out. Once I got them out they were grooved a slight bit towards the ends. I thought the same thing: There has to be something I am missing here...Nope, brute force worked for me.

Same here. Soaked it a few days with PB Blaster and still had to pound it out with a 5lb sledge hammer. I used an old deep socket to knock it out. Ruined the socket. I just replaced the entire assembly and I came with a new pin.
