Back Up Lights & Brakes Not Getting Power
I have a 2001 F 150 Supercrew with the factory hitch and wiring. The back up lights on my new trailer don't work and neither does the brake bypass. This trailer has a 5 flat plug and the Blue wire works the lights and the bypass. I can get it to work IF I unplug the trailer and plug the blue wire into the socket for the running lights. I have checked the main fuse (30 amp) under the hood and it is good. The Blue wire on the 5 flat to 7 round adaptor goes to the middle post of the 7 round. Everything else works fine. Is there somewhere else to look? Can I just run a jumper wire from one of the backup lights and jumper it to the middle wire on the truck plug? Any ideas? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Thanks.

Check the middle pin of your 7 pin on the truck. If it's good, then it sounds like it is the adaptor.

I have no power to the middle pin. Can I just make a jumper from the back up light?

Make sure the reverse relays are installed on the truck. It is probably located in the engine compartment. Fords normally don't come with the relays.
