Just for opinion sake.....what is the ideal position your boat trailer should be in when towing? What length 'drop bar' do you need from your trucks trailer hitch? 3", 6" drop? Does your trailer need to be 'level' when towing? If not does this have advers affects on your trailer?

My Ranger trailer is marked that it should be 18" from the ground. That for my trailer makes it level. The drop amount would depend on the vehicle hitch height. The Surge brakes work the best when level.
Trailers should be level for optimum handling performance. It won't hurt to have the tongue an inch high.

Level is more important with a tandem axle trailer so your tires carry the correct load and minimize tire failure. With that said, all trailers should be as close to level as possible, and on the high side if level is not possible.
My trailer has a sticker on it with info about the trailer. One of the things on the sticker is trailer hitch height.
18" plus or minus 1- 1/2" (16-1/2" - 19-1/2")
Look on your trailer and see if you have a sticker with trailer height info.

My new Ranger Trail is a single axle, but no where on it does it say that it should be level or about 18" off the ground. Before I headed off to the lake the other day, I put a level on the tongue and I am only about 1/8" off from being perfectly level. Guess I can't ask for much more than that.
