FUEL or SPARK 95 175 intruder
I have a 1995 175 intruder model#e175gleom that i'm still having proplems with. The motor will not turn over 5100 i've checked compression changed plugs cleaned carbs and nothing has helped. I found that it was missing the roller that advances the timing @wot replaced that with the same outcome. The motor fires and runs fine until you get it on plane and start to trim it up that's when it starts to have a miss and will die if you stay in it. I had my buddy hit the primer ball when it does this with no effect. Not sure if this could be a vro or a ignition issue please advise on what else i can look for any help would be appreciated http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif

If your buddy pumped the bulb and that had no effect then that should rule out the pump. You may want to have your tach checked and you may also want to try a different prop.
Re: FUEL or SPARK 95 175 intruder (ChampioNman)
I have tried two other props and they had the same effect. I will get the tach checked but i was running mid 60s gps last year turning 6000 and same prop will only get mid 50s now turning 5000
Re: FUEL or SPARK 95 175 intruder (hawghunter175)
I am no expert but I thought 5400 - 5600 WOT was were you wanted to be with that engine. Anymore than that you would be damaging your engine.

Put a timing light on it when it starts to miss, could be ignition breaking down.
