1977 25 hp johnson the shift shaft seal is leaking and i cant figure out how to replace the seal ( O_ RING? ) the rod is removed but .... how to get the seal [ out - in ] replaced? thanks in advance i'll be checking back frequently http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
the parts diagrams online dont show enough detail to figure this one out
need a special tool or make one to drive out the brass bushing and replace the oring. It's in the service manual.
got a picture of the tool needed? dimensions. ive gotta have one made monday.
it's a stepped rod that goes thru the oring and the ledge catches on the bushing and you drive it out. I hope its not a saltwater motor.
