Got my First Buck Yesterday!!!!!!!
SO after 6 years of hunting and 3 years of archery hunting and six misses with a bow later i finally connected with a bow and on my first buck ever. Yesterday was probably the seacond greatest days ive ever had hunting besides when i got my first deer. First i saw a little buck that had a fork on the front that acted like he was gonna come towards me so i decided if he had some brows i would try to get him, but he veered off and disappeared, so about 15 mins later right when i was getting ready to sit back down i see him again and hes going away from me, and disappears, then about two minutes later i hear this crashing and racking, like somebodys beating the crap out of a bush i look over and see the first three points on a side of a deers rack, and see a huge body, and then i got excited, then he snort weezed at the little four pointer and disappeared, and i though o crap. then about five minutes later i catch movement way on down from where my treestand is and i look thru my binos and see a big 8 pointer, while im looking at this buck i hear this running right at me i look to my left and a see a doe comeing right at me with two bucks right on her heels, the big deer i saw earlier and the little four pointer i had seen. and the doe comes right to the bottom of the ladder of my treestand and stops and i see the buck coming right for her grunting and all, so i get ready draw my bow and wait for the shot, i passed up a hard quatering away shot because i wanted to make sure i hit him hard, he then turns stars to walk rigt to one of my shooting lanes he goes right into i grun and stop him and let the arrwo fly and watched it hit right where i wanted and i saw bllod as soona i hit him coming out of the entry wound, i watched him trot off but he didnt run, he got about 30 yards away and he started to wobble and fell over, bt got up and hobbled over a downed tree and then he feel clean over onto his back. so i called my friend( his property is where i hunt) who was still sleeping, and tell him i just shot a monster, but dont coming running into the woods, i want to buck to lay for a while to make sure he was dead. so i get down out of my treestand and carefully walk to where i hit him, i dont see my arrow, but there was good blood on the ground, o i went back to the house and called my grandfather to tell him i had just got a monster and if he thought it was dead, he said if his feet are up in the air then hes probably dead, but to go slow and have an arrow noocked just in case., then i called my mom. so then my buddya nd i went and followed the blood trail there was a good amount of bloode but a crazy amount, so i got about ten yards awy from the deer and picked up a stick and chucked it at him to see if he moved and he didnt and then my friend came down and started yelling his brains out about how big it was and then we went and got him loaded up onto his deer rack and got him all gutted out, when we were gutting him the lungs so really really messed up there was chucks of lungs all in the body cavity, the swackers did thier job, the coolest thing was i watched the arrow hit, and watched him fall over, but the only thing is i cant find my arrow for some reason my friend and i looked for about two hours after we took him to the butchers. So i have to find a taxidermists now because im getting the bad boy mounted. Does anybody know a good taxi around exton? heres some pictures:
