Probably no big deal to many, but I got my first duck with a leg band during the January 1-2 late season. I thought that was pretty cool as I've hunted ducks and geese for about 20 years and never have even seen one.
It was banded in Ontario in 2009.

I've shot a lot of ducks and only have one band to show for it. Gotta wonder where those TV guys get so many from.
Always exciting and fun to know where they came from.

I've been lucky to kill one with a federal band and one with a state band.
Awesome, my buddy and I shot a mallard, he winged it and I downed it. Come to find out it had a band.....needless to say I still don't have a band, but a great memory for sure. I think you get a certificate and plaque or something.

I've got 1 band. Killed it in 2008. Been on 3 other hunts where bands were killed and we drew numbers because no one knew who shot it. Needless to say, I only got the one.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
I've got a buddy who's very first duck kill was banded. What a lucky dude!
Haha that was me earlier this year!! First duck kill was a banded Woodie!! Needless to say my brother and cousin were jealous. haha
