2000 johnson 225 question
I have a 2000 johnson 225. Whats the best way to decarb the engine? Also engine idles at 500 rpms in gear, whats normal on this engine? Also, does anyone have info on the link and sync for this engine? I had this engine bulit 3 yrs ago and put maybe 30 hrs on it since then. I just want ot check these item.

You can bump up your idle speed in gear some. At 30 hours it shouldn't need a decarb yet. But when it is time use BRP engine tuner. Easiest way to apply it is to shoot it into the maintenance port on the primer solenoid. Don't do it on a concrete driveway though. It will leave marks. The sync n link procedure is too lenghty to type and is in Chapter one of the service manual.
