Re: New Ignition Key (aznbassman)
Go to a Mercury dealer, they should have the key. Bring your existing with you, there is a number on it. Not very many different keys. I had a '84 40hp mariner, now I have a '01 150hp merc, and guess what, they use the same key!
Re: New Ignition Key (WaYoop)
Thanks I will for sure do that. Where is the number on the key?
Re: New Ignition Key (aznbassman)
If I remember correctly it is stamped on the key. I didnt have a key at all when I purchased my boat and my local merc dealer took out his master set of keys (I think there may only be 6 or so) and tried them until one worked. Very simple. Then I purchased 4 sets of that number key.

Sounds kind of like compartment locks......If you lose your key, just ask your buddy if you can borrow his. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: New Ignition Key (AmesHusker)
A locksmith should have the blank and can cut a key from your original.
Re: New Ignition Key (aznbassman)
Going to a Mercury dealer is your best bet, take your key with you if it has no number on it. I had a 200EFI at one time, went to a Merc dealer, they fixed me up, and would you believe it, they had no Merc keys like I needed, but found a Yamaha key that worked fine. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
