1995 Johnson 150 Fast Strike

I am going to pick up a 1995 379SDC with 150 Johnson fast strike tommorow , it is going to be a project boat , I know the previous owner and am aware that the boat has not been cranked in almost a year. My question is what should i do first take the boat and have motor serivced first , as im going to do extensive overhaul on hull paint ext. just new to boat motors and want to do this project right the first time any tips would be great

If the motor was properly winterized for storage the carbs shouldn't be an issue. I would drain and inspect the condition of the lower unit fluid. If milky replace the seals in it. I would also replace the water pump and impeller to start out on a good foot.
