question about 01 johnson 150 carb
I had a local "shade tree" mechanic tell me with my aging oil system vro I should add some oil to my gas and still keep the vro hooked up, has anyone else ever heard of this before? If so how much oil should I add to the gas tank its on a 19 foot 2001 javelin. He said it could be a engine saver if my vro went out..
Thanks

Very rarely do you see failure because of the VRO going out. Not saying it hasnt happened or won't happen, but most of the time other "things" are what causes the internals becoming externals... i think the owners manual says to add like a pint per tank full or something to that effect if you are goiing to twist the ears on it all the time..
Re: question about 01 johnson 150 carb (THE WITCHDOCTOR)
I add 16 ounces per 12 gallons. My 2001 VRO/OMS is still connected.
