Since 1964 Johnson and Evinrude motors have a 50:1 ratio
Seahorse or any of the other professionals what are your thoughts on going to a 40:1 mixture when self mixing when you will be using WOT a lot? I have read other posts that suggest 40:1 and it got me thinking about extra protection for my (1994-95) 175 intruder. Currently using 50:1 penzoil xlf ..Thanks in advance
for many years on the high performance motors OMC recommended an additional 50:1 mix in the gas tank in addtition to the "VRO" fuel:oil mixture when used at continuous high speeds.
I'd also recommend a bit more oil if the motor is used exclusively in high rpm situations just to be on the safer side on carbureted engines.
