Questions on '98 vindicator 225
Will be picking up my blazer 202 after dealer has rigged with a '98 vindicator 225. I traded in my '98 ficht after many, many problems.
Was wondering what I should check out before I pull away with it. I know there is at least a 30 day warranty, maybe even a 60 day on his used motors.
He says is has 150 hrs on it. I was going to get him to check compression with me and ask about lower unit oil. Anything else??
Dealer is 5 minutes from Coosa River so I will run the crap out of it probably until dark.
What should rpms be at wot??
Thanks

I had a 96. They run between 5500 and 6000. With around 5800 for your best power.

Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (LEGACY_HUNTER02)
I figure I will run it 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and be about the same speed as the 175 ficht. Going 75mph just doesn't make much sense right now.
Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (damstriper)
I think the drain plugs are right on that engine but I would check with the guys on the jetting of #2 carb I don't know about the 98 model year but the older ones need a bigger jet to help cool that piston.
Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (Bassmeister)
What size jet would you go with in #2
Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (garycorbett)
I think the gurus are going 2 sizes up They will keep me straight!
Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (Bassmeister)
Mike is right, remove the #2 main jet....Remember, #2 carb is the lowest top carb, see what number is stamped in the jet and go up two sizes.
This is true only if the jets have not been drilled to a larger size.
Re: Questions on '98 vindicator 225 (Bassmeister)
Correct Jr Moderator, PN on the jet is 327558 about $7.00 at your local BRP dealer. To check the plugs remove one and see if it has a "tit" instead of smooth end on it. If smooth replace all of them with PN 344267 and O ring 305739, this keeps the HS orifice from backing out causing a Lean out situation. CM http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif

The 1997 and newer should have the correct drain plugs. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
