Can anybody help me out with some images of rocks on 2d sonar? I got into an argument with a L-brand guy who claims he can't see rocks on humminbirds sonar.

I believe him, the 2D performance on my 898SI doesn't seem to be close to the older Lowrance LCX-15 it replaced. I've toyed with the settings trying to find the sweet spot but haven't gotten there yet. The side imaging and down imaging look great but the regular sonar isn't great in my opinion. Is he talking about small rocks in the 6" or less range or large boulders?

I would say that he needs to adjust his 2D settings and modes to learn the benefits and how to get detail in them. Most overpower 2D sensitivity and it will lose detail of individual rocks and structure. One thing I do see is Humminbird has great detail in displaying the difference between hard and soft returns.
