Now I figured it out!! This is an underwater intake and a pipe for Raleigh NC at falls lake. Baitfish love pump houses. lol

So you are saying the thing between the two bait balls on the right side of the image (the item casting the big SI shadow) is a pump intake? Or are you talking about the other photo. Here is the photo and item I'm talking about.

If this item casting the SI shadow is not a pump intake, what it is? It looks like a massive amount of fish or some other tight structure (ie, brush that was placed?) to me. But I'm no expert.

I was thinking it is maybe a brushpile or cage to block fish from being sucked in. Thanks to all for the comments. I appreciate everyone's post and this is why I'm getting this down pack because of this forum.
