Re: More Problems!!! (Astro-T)
Solder a threaded copper 3/4" fitting on the end and buy a screw on spout.
Just measure the pipe length in case you need to cut or add to the length for the new spout.
Re: More Problems!!! (haha)
Thx for the idea bit I think I finally got it! I cleaned the pipe really well and then put some JB Weld on it and put some cellophane tape on it overnight to smooth it. I sanded it this morning and just left the gouges filled in. Seems to be working. Time will tell! If it starts leaking again I'm going to take your suggestion. Thx again!!!
Re: More Problems!!! (Astro-T)
when installing a new diverter, take your cutters and take off 1/4-1/2" if it's chewed up like described and it will give ya some fresh copper to play with. if it's in decent enough shape, just clean her up a tad. whether just putting your old diverter back on or new one, make sure ya lay some heat grease on the pipe to help create a seal and will also help keep that o'ring from drying out anytime soon....jmo
Re: More Problems!!! (Astro-T)
Well... I spoke too soon. It lasted for awhile but started leaking again. I went ahead and wet a small towel and put it behind the joint and just put a new piece of pipe in. Didn't even start a fire! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Anyhow... all is good now. Thx for the suggestions!!
