Re: VRO2 troubleshooting (aggieangler09)
Your E=bay kit should have come with a new pulse limiter too. (Blue). B http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif lue is new and improved. with a 1992 I'd go to NAPA with a section of primer hose and replace that and recirc hose and do them too. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: VRO2 troubleshooting (ChampioNman)
My e-bay kit was a used rebuilt pump that is not working out so well right now. It did come with the blue pulse limiter though, which I installed. I can't get the thing to work over 3,800 rpms. It will barely get my boat on plane and then will surge if a try to get any more rpms. Pumping the bulb remedies the problem. I don't have any fuel leaks, and I have vacuum tested all the lines and everything is good. All the right snap clamps and tie straps are tight. Compression is good on the bottom pulse cylinder. Just trying to test the pump correctly and cant get consistent results. The only lines that have not been replaced are the primer hoses.
I'm wishing that I had just coughed up the money and bought a new pump. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
Re: VRO2 troubleshooting (aggieangler09)
the vacuum and pressure checks are only to see if there is leakage in the seals or diaphragms. The true test is the pressure output, oil flow, and priming, along with the alarm testing.
You also have to check the vacuum and for air bubbles in the boat's fuel system. All that is explained in the later service manuals.
