Keeping hooks from rusting
You know the little white packets in new shoe boxes says DO NOT EAT on them. Start keeping them and put one packet in each plano box to help with rusting hooks. Also if your Depth finder gets a little moisture in it, take it off the boat, get some rice and a zip lock bag. Pour some rice in there and put the depth finder in there and seal it. Let it sit till the rice "pulls" the moisture out. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

I use the waterproof boxes for all my worm hooks, It helps but doesnt stop it. I seen on here a guy using the damp rid containers in his storage compartments to remove moisture, I havent tried it yet but that may help also.

The Gel pack tick is exactly what I do. I went to the local shoe stores and asked if they had any laying around int he back. I got a plenty. I have enough now that I also put them in every drawer of my tool box too.
I've also heard that if you take the bundle of toothpicks that you use to peg weights with, and put them in the Plano box with the hooks, they will help keep the rust off. From what I understand, the wood will absorb moisture like the rice trick.

If you want to clean up some rust on ya hooks, Try puttin them in a jar with some sand and shake it for a minute, This will remove the rust from them.

The bag-of-rice trick is a good way to dry out a cell phone, too.
