LOTS of CHEAP trailer hook keepers!!!!!
If you are like me and want your trailer hooks to hang loose instead of being held in place by tubing over the eye here is a good way to get some cheap keepers. Take a hole punch and a coffee can lid, pringles can lid...etc. and punch holes in it. Then empty out the holes from the punch and use them to slide over the hook point on your spinnerbaits/bussbaits to keep the trailerhook on. Works perfect and is very durable. Steve

Yeah, a few years ago I heard just cut out a half dozen small circles from a plastic soft drink container and away you go.
Re: LOTS of CHEAP trailer hook keepers!!!!! (reelman)
works good for soft plastic that slide down the hook also

I do something similar but take a short length of red heat shrink tubing, cut it into strips and the trim off small squares from each strip. It's super tough so you can use a very small piece and it adds a bit of red to the back end of the spinnerbait. Only takes a very short length and a minute to make enough to last for weeks.

I've done that for thirty years and have not found a better way yet that I like better. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif

Strip white insulation off a piece of #12 or #10 copper wire--- then cut into 1/16 lenghts ---slip over spinnerbait hook to keep the trailer hook from comming off---allows trailer to swing freely. It don't get any easier than this!!!!!

I had lots of extra tubing, making for LOTS of hook keepers, after installing my Power Bubbles system in my livewell.
Great for keeping the trailers on...and I don't fit the tubing over the hook eye, I like my trailer hook to swing freely.
