Did it appear to have been heat related, like cooked? What kind of engine?
i have seen this before too....they crack jsut from the stress on them from the torque of the motor....check them close http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

The Delrin sleeve of the Flo-Torq II System is designed to "break away" upon impact with something.
Most of the time this sleeve cracks (without wacking something) due to the prop leaving the water under power. ie.. jumping swells, logs, big rock piles.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
The one flaw with the sleeve is the open end at the rear of the prop. Merc now makes a plug that goes inside the sleeve and closes this end down to fit closer around the prop shaft. Ask you local prop shop for one. About 20 bucks and that cracking issue will stop.
Cracks were on the front of the sleeve in every corner.Its on a Yama Vmax225ox66
Exactly my point. The sleve without the bushing is only contacting firmly at the front of the prop.
