September tip of themonth
I buy desicant bags and throw them in my storage boxes on board. They eliminate mositure, mildew and the musty smells from the boxes. After a few weeks I trash them and throw in new ones. It is great for storage boxes that hold life vests, towels, rain gear etc.
If you ever bought new clothes or shoes, guns etc., they are the little paper pouches.

I have an even better idea.. take a trip to your local pharmacy and ask them to save you the ones that come packaged with the medicine....cheaper, and you have an infinite supply of them
Re: September tip of themonth (trisonmike)
The ones you get at a pharmacy are way 2 small. I buy bags that are 4"X 4" square. They are very cheap.

I hate to hi jack a guys post but, you can buy the desicant in quart milk cartons at Lowes for less than $10.00 bucks. I just dump them in pint sour cream containers. Also if you top them off with moth balls those will help with mouse issues, if you have them
Re: September tip of themonth (Big Easy)
I dont mind hi-jacking my post. I just wanted people to know that they are a good thing, wherever you buy them.
Re: September tip of themonth (trisonmike)
So where do you buy the sheets at?
Re: September tip of themonth (arkiebass)
I work with electronics that come with bigger bags of the silica. The bags have the silica pellets in it. I rip open the bag then put quite a few individual pellets in each bin in the utility box. Works great and one packet of silica pellets goes a long way. They are odorless too.
