Great tip for brightening your gel coat (esp black boats)
Well...
If we are still doing tip of the month this must me it =)
If your gelcoat has dulled as they will especially in black or darker boats there is an easy way to brighten them up. Find your local Avon representative and ask for a bottle of "Skin So Soft". Soak a rag with it and rub it into the surface of the boat. My brother used it on his black Skeeter and he was amazed at how well it worked. He said it looked like it has just been painted.
This stuff has a lot of applications! You can use it on your pets to get rid of flees (although good for their coat it leaves it oily).
Can be used to kill flees in the house (I'll tell you how if you want to know)
Its like snake oil its so useful - just don't drink it!

And...
Did you know that AVONÂs Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil is more than just a bath oil? Just look at the list of uses weÂve found, Âtried and trueÂ!!
1. ItÂs a bath oil.
2. ItÂs an after shower moisturizer.
3. It can be used to remove makeup.
4. ItÂs a suntan oil (not a sunscreen, however).
5. Pour a little in the water of your foot saver to help moisturize your feet while you relax them.
6. ItÂs a hot oil treatment to soften nails.
7. ItÂs a good massage oil for those overworked, sore muscles.
8. ItÂs a good insect repellent for people and their pets (as recommended in Outdoor Life and Field and Stream magazines, plus ÂDear AbbyÂ).
9. It helps relieve itching caused by insect bites and dry skin.
10. Sponge it on screen and around doors and windows to keep crawling bugs, as well as, flies and mosquitoes out.
11. ItÂs a good wood cleaner, conditioner and polish for natural wood. (Cuts grease and dirt from kitchen cabinets with ease).
12. It removes chewing gum from hair, skin, and most nonporous surfaces.
13. It removes glue and gum left from price tags and labels from glass, metal and most plastics.
14. It cleans tape marks left by bandages from skin.
15. It cleans ink from skin and most vinyl and painted surfaces.

19. It removes tar spots from car finishes without damaging paint finish.
20. ItÂs an oil lubricant for fitting pipe joints that wonÂt slip together as easily as they used to.
21. It removes paint and stain from skin  much gentler than turpentine!
22. It cleans paint brushes easily, and leaves them as soft as new.
23. It removes gum from carpet.
24. It cuts grease and dirt from range hoods.
25. It removes candle wax from furniture, carpeting, and clothing.
26. It removes scuff marks from patent leather shoes.

How does it kill fleas in the house? I got an unexpected visitor,Opossum('DAM POSSUM') that gave birth to a few in my office cabinet and the fleas are unbelievable.

I just tried it on my 89 Stratos. Top cap was faded, looks good now. It even took of the Mississippi river scum line from the hull. If it keeps the skeeters away from my boat this evening on the river, I'm buying Avon stock!

ok this takes a little neck enginuity! take a small desk lamp, one that has an arm that leans over; take a jar lid and put the SSS in it. The fleas jump toward the light (or heat) and the land in the SSS. Too thick to swim in it. My mom used it years ago and worked pretty good.
If the fleas are really bad though, prob want to get and exterminator, since its your office, to make sure the eggs are destoyed

SSS is the best BEST mosquito repellent that I've ever used, bar none. If you are going to fish Dale Hollow or Cumberland at night where the mosquitos wear boots, SSS will save the night.
Kathy uses my BassBoat Saver, I use her Skin So Soft!

Do you know anyone that has been applying it for awhile? (year or better)
Just curious what the long term effect would be to the jelly coat if you used it on a regular bases.
