2005 johnson Bombardier 175hp

I hadn't had my boat very long maybe a month. I have found a little problem. I don't know what it is but when I am running Trimmed up or down wide open or half throttle the engine is jumping feeling like it is about to lock up but I know that is not it. It cranks up fine and idles fine just when I start going it goes but hesitates a little bit. If this sounds like anything anyone could help me with please let me know. waaaaa bump waaaa bump waaa bump waaaaa! It kinda jerks you a little bit and you can definetly feel it.

Run it on the hose, see if the l/u is making the noise in forward or reverse... if so...it could be something as simple as a linkage adjustment or complex as rebuilding the lower unit... but maybe it won't be the unit........ http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Or, it could be something as simple as a slipping prop hub. Mine was doing something similar when we were out Saturday. I pulled the prop and you could see it had been slipping. It was very tough to get on plane (bogged down big time) and would give us the 'bump' while running but fortunately it didn't 'spin' completely so I didn't have to do a prop swap on the water. Took it to the shop Monday and they confirmed it had been slipping.

If it's an 05' model, I would let the dealer deal with it, should be warranty..... Right?

I think you need to get this back to your dealer, could be a simple adjustment.

I have taken it to the dealer and they say it might be the power pack? Is that common, the engine is brand new.

I have not seen any pack problems at all with those motors.

It was the power pack, it went out, I don't understand the engine is brand new 2005 Johnson Bombardier 175. Oh well it is fixed now that is all that matters.

A bad part will most times show itself fairly quick, you should have no more problems.
