how much flake??

I have 3 qts of clear gel and a qt. of flake. I want to spray the top cap only on my TR21. Do I have anywhere near enough materials? The rest looks good. How should I mix the flake with the gel? I have the surface wax also to mix. If I am not mistaken, the surface wax goes only in the final coat. Also I am putting on new decals. After the gel is all on, I am going to compound and prepare to wax. Should I put the new decals on before I wax? They are kinda rubber on the outside with a sticky surface on the inside. I don not think they would stick very well to the wax.
You guys have been a tremendous help so far and I can now see light at the end of the tunnel. Any ideas from those who have done this before ia greatly appreciated.

1. surface wax goes on final coat only 2. no wax under the decals however might be easier to wax entire boat first then clean off the decaled area with acetone. I would test shoot a small amount of uncataylized resin and flake on a peice of cardboard and gradually increase the flake and see how it goes, also see what the best air pressure and amount of (thining) styrene mixture is.

3 quarts is not nearly enough to do the cap........I wouls tart by buying 2 gallons. Remember it has to be thick enough to color sand but not go thru to the flake. About the thickness of a dime.

As far as the flake, a local shop told me to mix in flake until it stays on the stir stick when you pull it out of the clear. You monitor the amount of flake as you spray it.
