I have repaired a hole in the bottom of my boat with fiberglass. What should I put over the fiberglass? I had planned on gel coat but some info I have seen online has said epoxy would be better. By the way, it is a 16 year old bass boat and I'm not concerned about what it looks like since you can't see it unless you crawl under the boat. I just want it to be structurally sound and not leak.
Marine-tex would be a sound advice... It can be tinted to match the color... very easy to use n etc... so go for that...
How do you apply it? Can it be brushed or do you use a trowel?

What did you repair the hole with ? Glass cloth/resin ? What color is the boat where the repair is ?
Yes, I repaired the hole with glass cloth & resin. The bottom is a light gray, although I'm not too concerned whether the color matches or not.
Marine - Tex comes in white and grey, white can be tinted , it is waterproof and permanent, easy to work with.

This might be a dumb question, but what would you use to tint the marine-tex?

Any of these can be used to tint Marine -Tex white. Do not use more than 5% pigment per total volume of Marine Tex used..
