Anyone have this done to their boats can give some kind of roundabouts that they charged? I want to do some custom painting for the stripes, but right now my boat is gelcoat white and I want to go to a silver polymist with the metal flake look. The bottom will most likely have to be painted a gray as well to match the polymist.
Just looking for a ballpark figure. I have a couple quotes but nothing specific. One said between 2500 and 4k and one came over with about 6 grand.

If you are changing gelcoat colors on the entire hull, then those quotes are not out of line, I would lean toward the higher end of the quotes, 4 - 5 grand if done in a real competent shop on a typical bass boat in the 19' range.
There is a ton of prep work to be done to re gelcoat a boat, all of it is hand labor costs. Removing all peripheral hardware, engine, repairing scratches, gouges, sanding entire boat.
Spraying gel, then sanding smooth to get the glass like finish that would normally be imparted from the mold.
