Re: Carpet adhesive help (rnger373v)
I like the contact cement on everything, just make sure you apply it to both carpet and deck and let it sit about 10 to 15 minutes and stick them together http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
Re: Carpet adhesive help (rnger373v)
when I redone my boat a month or so ago,I used the outdoor carpet glue on the large areas and the spray adhesives on the edges and smaller areas. If you use something fast drying on the larger areas,it will set-up before you can get it perfectly in place. Not to mention work the wrinkles out of it.

This is what I use for everything. I get it locally at an upholsterer but you can find it online for around 25 bucks for a gallon. This stuff is amazingly strong and usually ends up tearing the backing off carpet if you try to remove it. Its DAP Landau Roof Adhesive. Its a contact adhesive but much better than the stuff I've used from "The Depot".

The only thing it didn't work on was the deck on my tinny. Don't really know what I was thinking when I decided to use thompsons water seal on the wood and then try to stick something to it? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif
Re: Carpet adhesive help (rnger373v)
I used contact cement on the carpet job I finished this week. All went good except the floor. There just wasn't enough room down there and a couple of cuts that had to be fitted and I almost messed that part up. I should have use glue there. The rest was cake with the contact cement. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Contact cement, just don't let it tack too long and you will be fine.
